Use Screensavers to prevent Unnecessary Phosphors Glow:


The main purpose of using Screensavers in Computer Monitor was to protect burning of Phosphors.

Early monitors had problems with the same image being displayed over and over for long periods of time.

The phosphors, used to make the pixels in the monitor display, it glows at a constant rate, for such a long period of time that they could cause harm of discolor the glass surface of the monitor.



This Discoloration of the Monitor could be visible as a faint image overlaying whatever else was shown on the screen. Today due to the Advances in Display technology, the creation of energy-saver monitors have virtually eliminated the need of screensavers.

Entertainment is the most common reason for use Screensavers, they just look good. However, Some Screensavers can also use for security; these can be set up with a password so that when anyone walk away from the computer and know it is safe.
